U6-U8 Age Groups

Both practices and games are run by Ferranti Empowerment

  • Engaging soccer training that inspires players to love the game, build character, and execute decisions with confidence and autonomy.
  • Age group-appropriate skills, activities, and games.
  • Specific vocabulary and curriculum that progresses throughout the season and entire intramural program.

logistics:

  • Players will have one practice session during the week and one game on the weekend
  • There are no set teams in this program with the aim of emphasizing development and joy for all participants
  • You will receive an introductory email from the club one week prior to the start of the season
  • On the first day, you will receive a Dix Hills jersey
  • Please mark your calendars with both the training and game dates/times for your age group

Games
  • Players are called onto the field and teams are formed evenly every weekend
  • Games are run by Ferranti Empowerment
  • Tactical concepts are taught (i.e. throw ins, goal kicks, etc.)

What to Expect:

  • Once you arrive, the Ferranti Empowerment coaches will direct you on what to do
  • Parents can watch their player practice and compete in the game anywhere along the sideline
  • Trainers will call the players onto to the field to begin the session
  • There will be an end-of-the-season festival (in lieu of trophies) to emphasis a focus on development and fun within the community

What to bring:

  • Water
  • Cleats
  • Shin guards for protection 
  • Soccer socks go over the shin guards to hold them in place
  • Dix Hills jersey (provided by club)
  • Optional to bring a size 3 ball; We will provide balls as well

Weather Policy

  • In the case of inclement weather, you will receive an email from the club at least one hour before your scheduled session
  • Makeups are not guaranteed, however we will do our best
  • Some options to be prepared for are Sundays (a double header) or on a holiday weekend

The Registration "U6-U8 Age Groups" is not currently available.

Uniforms

A Dix Hills Soccer Club jersey will be provided on the first day.

EQUIPMENT TO PURCHASE: Black shorts or sweatpants, shinguards, black soccer socks, and cleats, size 3 ball.

PROHIBITED: sneakers, earrings, jewelry, baseball caps, or cast of any kind. EYEGLASSES: Children who wear glasses MUST have either protective safety goggles over regular glasses, or wear plastic sports goggles specifically designed for athletic use.
